NOOSHMAN (USA) (G Birrer) dwelt on jumping losing considerable ground. As the gelding had performed in this manner on previous occasions. Trainer Mr R Simpson was advised that NOOSHMAN must perform a satisfactory stalls test before being permitted to enter to race. TANNOOR (USA) (R Cleary) pulled hard in the early stages. Approaching the 900m MUHAREB (USA) (P Dobbs) rolled inwards tightening MBOSI (USA) (T O'Shea) on to TANNOOR (USA) (R Cleary) which was momentarily steadied. Passing the 450m NAIAD (GB) (R Smith) commenced to lay inwards with Jockey R Smith changing his whip to his left hand. In this action Jockey R Smith struck Jockey T O'Shea (MBOSI {USA}) with his whip. Shortly after this MBOSI (USA) and NAIAD (GB) bumped for several strides. When assessing this incident stewards considered that Jockey R Smith (NAIAD {GB}) had ridden carelessly by continuing to extricate his whip when his horse shifted in to the extent that it came in contact with MBOSI (USA). Subsequently Jockey R Smith was fined AED 1,000 for carelessness under ERA 69 (i). A veterinary inspection of SILENT HAWK (IRE) (T Durcan) revealed no abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of SILENT HAWK (IRE) Jockey T Durcan stated that after commencing well and being able to take a forward position, the colt had then been reluctant to stride out when racing inside other runners, subsequently he had elected to ease the colt down in the straight. DOLBEAR (USA) (G Hind) returned with a laceration to its off hind pastern. General Report Race 5. DOCUMENTO FISCAL (BRZ) - Jockey D O'Donohoe replaced Jockey T Durcan Race 6. Jockey P Dillon was advised that his body protector must be worn affixed in the proper fashion.
