Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that MACHYNLETH (GB) would be required to complete a stalls test prior to being entered to race. OUTPOKER (USA) (R Ffrench) stumbled on jumping and then shifted outwards bumping with MR POP IDOL (GB) (P Dobbs). BALKAN LEADER (USA) (W Supple) was slow to begin and tended to over race in the early middle stages. A post race veterinary inspection of BALKAN LEADER (USA) revealed no abnormalities.

Approaching the 400m JAFFAL (USA) commenced to lay inwards. At the same time WAAJEB (USA) (R Ffrench), when held up behind runners, shifted outwards causing RAHEIBB (IRE) (A Ajtebi) to be momentarily steadied. Near the 350m JAFFAL (USA) was accidentally struck on the nose by the whip of jockey R Ffrench (WAAJEB [USA]). WAAJEB (USA) had a tendency to lay inwards over the final 150m.
