IMPOSSIBLE SKI (BRZ) (A Domingos) was withdrawn at 4:55pm on veterinary advice when the colt was found to have an elevated temperature. Trainer Mr A C Pereira was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the colt being permitted to be entered to race again. FUSAICHI RICHARD (JPN) (C Soumillon) blundered on jumping. GHARIR (IRE) (M Dywer) shifted outwards at the start inconveniencing SINGING POET (IRE) (T O'Shea) which lost ground. PAROLE BOARD (USA) (T Durcan) and VORTEX (GB) (J Murtagh) bumped on jumping. COURT MASTERPIECE (GB) (K McEvoy) and MERLERAULT (USA) (S Pasquier) bumped near the 300m. FUSAICHI RICHARD (JPN) returned with a cut to its left fore heel. A post race veterinary examination of BOSTON LODGE (GB) (E Ahern) revealed no abnormalities. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BOSTON LODGE (GB), Jockey E Ahern stated that the gelding had never traveled well at any stage of the race and could offer no excuses for the disappointing performance. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of KILLYBEGS (IRE), Jockey Dettori was of the opinion that the colt was unsuited to racing on dirt.

BARTOLA (ARG) (P Falero) was difficult to load. TRAFFIC GUARD (USA) (J Egan) shifted in at the start and inconvenienced VICTORY TETSUNI (USA) (Y Take). Shortly after the start JOE LOUIS (ARG) (M Kinane) had to be steadied from the heels of DAY PASS (USA) (G Gomez). Approaching the 1400m BARTOLA (ARG) (P Falero) which was racing keenly rolled inwards causing GREETINGS (BRZ) (R Mullen) to be steadied. Shortly after this TRAFFIC GUARD (USA) (J Egan) and BARTOLA (ARG) made contact. FOLK (USA) (K McEvoy) and EU TAMBEM (BRZ) (L Dettori) raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of GREETINGS (BRZ), Jockey R Mullen stated that the filly had raced flat. When questioned regarding the performance of FOLK (USA), Jockey K McEvoy reported that the filly had raced keenly and had a tendency to hang outwards which had resulted in him being unable to gain cover in running. FOLK (USA) returned lame in the right fore. Trainer Mr S bin Suroor was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the filly being permitted to be entered to race again. A post race veterinary examination of SEAL POINT (USA) (P Eddery) revealed the colt to be lame in the left hind. Trainer Mr C Wroe was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the colt being permitted to be entered to race again. ASIATIC BOY (ARG) (W Marwing) returned with a cut to its right hind. A post race veterinary examination of EU TAMBEM (BRZ) revealed no abnormalities.

HONEY RYDER (USA) jumped up awkwardly with Jockey G Gomez losing his off side iron. Shortly after this whilst trying to regain his iron, HONEY RYDER (USA) shifted inwards and carried QUIJANO (GER) (A Starke) in onto SUSHISAN (AUS) with that gelding bumping the hind quarters of SIR PERCY (GB) (M Dwyer) and then having to be restrained. Shortly after this QUIJANO (GER) and SIR PERCY (GB) (M Dwyer) bumped heavily. SUSHISAN (AUS) then raced keenly passing the winning post the first time. BELLAMY CAY (GB) (S Pasquier) over raced in the early stages. Near the 500m HOST (CHL) (J Velazquez) was crowded for room when VENGEANCE OF RAIN (NZ) (A Delpech) on its inside shifted outwards and SIR PERCY (GB) (M Dwyer) on its outside rolled inwards slightly. BELLAMY CAY (GB) had a tendency to shift ground in the straight. RED ROCKS (IRE) (C Nakatani) was impeded for clear running between the 500m and 300m. Passing the 200m, POP ROCK (JPN) (O Peslier) shifted inwards causing RED ROCKS (IRE) to be restrained. On enquiry, Jockey O Peslier (POP ROCK [JPN]) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under ERA 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 2 days (first two race meetings of racing season 2007-08) and fined USD 3000. Passing the 200m ORACLE WEST (SAF) when taken to the inside of QUIJANO (GER) tightened the tiring BEST ALIBI (IRE) (L Dettori). Shortly after this FORTY LICKS (ARG) (M Kinane) lay inwards causing INVASOR (ARG) (F Jara) to bump with KANDIDATE (GB).
