KHALIDA DE MONLAU (FR) (R Ffrench) was slow to begin. Near the 400m, jockey M Zouar (RAI DES CADES [FR]) dropped his whip. Passing the 250m, PAMELA DU CLOS (FR) (A Nicholls) shifted inwards momentarily impeding MURAWIH (FR) (T O'Shea). Shortly after this, RAABOB (FR) (A Ajtebi) drifted inwards and caused PAMELA DU CLOS (FR) to be steadied. A post race veterinary examination of RAI DES CADES (FR) revealed the horse to be lame in the right hind. Trainer Mr B Al Ketbi was advised that RAI DES CADES (FR) would require a veterinary certificate prior to it being entered to race again.

SAPUCAI (ARG) (T Durcan) jumped awkwardly getting its head in the air. JACKSON (BRZ) (G Birrer) veered inwards on jumping causing MASQUERADER (USA) (K Latham) to bump with TABREED (AUS) (T O'Shea) which was then restrained and lost ground, MASQUERADER (USA) then commenced to race keenly. When questioned regarding this incident, Jockey G Birrer explained that as he was instructed to go forward on JACKSON (BRZ) he had elected to use the whip out of the gates on the horse and when attempting to do so JACKSON (BRZ) had veered inwards. Whilst accepting this explanation, jockey G Birrer (JACKSON [BRZ]) was warned that he must ensure he has full control of his mount and that it is sufficiently clear of runners when using the whip shortly after the start. TE VOGLIO BENE (BRZ) (R Cleary) had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight.

AIRBUSS (IRE) (R Cleary) was hard to load. Trainer Mr D Selvaratnam was advised that the gelding would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. LAYAZAAL (IRE) (K Latham) was slow to begin. Passing the 1000m, ESQUIRE (GB) (A Nicholls) and AIRBUSS (IRE) both commenced to over-race getting their heads in the air. KHABFAIR (GB) (T Durcan) raced wide throughout and was eased down over the final 200m. When questioned regarding the performance of KHABFAIR (GB), Jockey T Durcan advised that the gelding had traveled well in running and when put under pressure in the straight had filed to respond and lost its action. A post race veterinary examination of KHABFAIR (GB) revealed no abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of KHABFAIR (GB), Trainer Mr S Seemar could offer no explanation other than the gelding may not having being suited to racing on the Nad Al Sheba surface for the first time. Upon return to the stable a veterinary inspection revealed KHABFAIR (GB) to have an infection in its right knee. Assistant Trainer Mr Bhupat Seemar was advised that KHABFAIR (GB) would require a veterinary certificate prior to it being entered to race again.

RESTRUCTURED (USA) (K Latham) was hard to load. Trainer Mr Al Muhairi was advised that the gelding would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. Approaching the 1000m, RESTURCUTRED (USA) was restrained inwards, making contact with the running rail and losing ground. On enquiry, it was established that IM'A CONSULTANT (USA) (M Zouar) when racing to the outside of RESTRUCTURED (USA) had been tightened for room behind BLUE GLORY (USA) (T O'Shea) and had then shifted inwards and made contact with RESTRUCTURED (USA). Apprentice K Latham (RESTRUCTURED [USA]) dropped his offside reign near the 100m and regained it shortly afterwards.
