SPEAR (IRE) (D O'Donohoe) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr D Watson was advised that he must attempt to improve the horse's starting gates manners prior to racing again. Passing the 200m, JACKSON (BRZ) (W Supple) shifted outwards and momentarily impeded JUMHOOR (IRE) (A Ajtebi). A post race veterinary examination of the poorly performed SPEAR (IRE) revealed the horse to be lame in the left hind. Trainer Mr D Watson was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to SPEAR (IRE) being permitted to enter to race again. When questioned regarding the performance of CIVILISATION (IRE), Jockey R Ffrench stated that the colt had hung outwards in running which he attributed to its poor performance. A post race veterinary examination of the colt revealed no abnormalities.
