KING CHARLES (GB) (C Sanchez) was a late scratching at 1:05pm on veterinary advice after the gelding was found to be lame in the left hind after it had sustained an injury whilst being transported to the track. Trainer Mr A bin Huzaim was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to be entered to race again. KALA KANTA (IRE) (R Mullen), which became fractious in the gates and reared and became cast momentarily, was removed from the starting gate, inspected by the Veterinarian and passed fit to start. AZIZI (GB) (R Hills) and KALA KANTA (IRE) bumped on jumping. MUTAJAMMEL (FR) (T O’Shea) and DYNAMIC SAINT (USA) (P Dobbs) were slow to begin. Approaching the 1750m, FUTURIST (GB) (C Sandoval), whilst being urged forward by its rider to take up a prominent position, shifted inwards carrying PASO DE GLORIA (ARG) (A Murgia) inwards onto MISTER FASLIYEV (IRE) (W Supple), which caused MISTER FASLIYEV (IRE) to bump heavily with REMAADD (USA) (W Buick), resulting in MISTER FASLIYEV (IRE) having to be severely checked and lose its position. On enquiry, Jockey C Sandoval (FUTURIST [GB]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 5 days (Abu Dhabi 26th December, Meydan 30th December, Jebel Ali 31st December 2010, Abu Dhabi 2nd January and Meydan 6th January, 2011). DEMOSTRATIVO (ARG) (P Cosgrave) made the bend at the 1200 awkwardly. FLORENTINE RULER (USA) (T Durcan) was eased at the turn at the 1200m when KALA KANTA (IRE) drifted out slightly. FUTURIST (GB) had a tendency to shift ground inwards and outwards over the final 300m. A post-race veterinary examination of DEMOSTRATIVO (ARG) revealed no abnormalities.
