Mr A Al Tamimi, the trainer of ANGEL (AE), was fined AED 250 for presenting the colt without a shadow roll which is part of ANGEL (AE) approved racing gear. DRAAZ (AE) was withdrawn at 2.12 pm by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice when the horse was found to be lame in the left-foreleg. Mr H Al Hammadi, the trainer of DRAAZ (AE), was notified that prior to the horse being entered to race again he must produce a veterinary certificate of suitability issued by a ERA veterinary officer. JAP MAHR (AE) was fractious in the barriers and commenced awkwardly. Mr I Ellahi, the trainer of JAP MAHR (AE), was notified that a warning would be placed on JAP MAHR (AE) regarding its barrier manners. AH KALNATHER (AE) was slow to begin. JAP FATTAN (AE) commenced extremely awkwardly unbalancing its rider C Kelly. Shortly after the start AF AL NITAK (AE) was inconvenienced when tightened for room between GUSTAV (AE) and SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE) both of which shifted ground. Near the 1200 metres AF AL NITAK (AE) steadied and shifted outwards to obtain clear running. In the concluding stages SAFINA GHANTOOT (AE) and SAHM W’RSAN (AE) raced greenly when under pressure. Apprentice M Monaghan, the jockey of GUSTAV (AE) was warned under the provision of Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) for using the whip with excessive frequency.

On jumping TAGSEED (IRE) was bumped heavily between QANNAAS (USA) on its outside and KESSRAA (IRE) on its inside. Leaving the 1000 metres GOLD PEARL (USA) momentarily steadied away from SILAAH (GB). P Cosgrave, the jockey of SILAAH (GB), which finished last, explained that the gelding was under pressure from the 800 metres and failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination of SILAAH (GB), revealed the gelding to be suffering a cardiac arrthymia. Mr M Ramadan, the trainer of SILAAH (GB), was notified that prior to the gelding entering to race again it must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer and lodge a veterinary report stating that the SILAAH (GB) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. The official gallop may only be performed fourteen (14) days after the event.

BACKSTAGE TOUR (GB) commenced awkwardly. Shortly after the start, JOURNALISTIC (USA) was eased out of the race. When question, W Smith, the jockey of JOURNALISTIC (USA), stated that shortly after the start the colt was not stretching out and felt lame in front and after it stumbled he eased the colt out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination of JOURNALISTIC (USA) revealed the colt to be shin sore. Mr M Ibrahim, the trainer of JOURNALISTIC (USA), was notified that prior to the colt being entered to race again he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for JOURNALISTIC (USA). Leaving the 100 metres COUNT PARIS (USA) commenced to shift ground and shortly after lay inwards inconveniencing COLOURFUL SCORE (USA). J Rosales, the jockey of COUNT PARIS (USA), was reprimanded under the provision of ERA Rule 69(i) for not making a greater effort to prevent his mount from shifting ground. J Rosales was further advised that he would be expected to stop using his whip whilst his mount was shifting ground. H Bentley, the jockey of BIRCHAM, which performed poorly, explained that the gelding travelled well in the early stages, however, when placed under pressure from the 800 metres BIRCHAM (IRE) failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination of BIRCHAM (IRE) failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. D O’Neill, the jockey of MOUTEAB (IRE), which was having its first start in the UAE and performed poorly, explained that the gelding was not entirely comfortable on the dirt surface.

RASMY (GB) was slow to begin. Mr M Al Muhairi, the trainer of RASMY (GB), was notified a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding it slow nature in jumping from the barrier stalls. Throughout the early and middles stages ZAIN SHAMARDAL (IRE) raced wide without cover and near the 1600 metres commenced to race ungenerously getting its head up. Approaching the 500 metres MAQARAAT (IRE) was inconvenienced when tightened for room between MULAQAT (GB), which lay out as ZAIN SHAMARDAL (IRE) which shifted inwards. Passing the 200 metres MUTAJARE (IRE) commenced to shift outwards and over the concluding stages raced tight with STORM BELT (USA). S Al Mazrooei, the apprentice jockey of MUTAJARE (IRE), was advised that in future he has to make every effort to afford runners more room when shifting ground.
