Near the 700 metres ABAJER AL SRAYA (AE) steadied from the heels of tiring runners. Passing the 600 metres ABAJER AL SRAYA (AE) which was tiring shifted out bumping MH VALIDOR (AE). In the straight MOON LIGHT (AE) hung inwards. A post-race veterinary examination of MH VALIDOR (AE) revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under the provisions of ERA Instruction 30(i),(iii)&(iv), Ms E Jeanne, the trainer of MH VALIDOR (AE), was notified that the gelding would not be permitted to exercise, train or race for a period of 21 days, and following must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Stewards or Veterinary Officer.

Acting on a veterinary report from the ERA Veterinary Officer, who stated that FYLTHY RICH (US) was lame in the left-foreleg, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse at 1.50pm. AK ADOUR (FR), AL ANID (FR) and FERASS (AE) were slow to begin. MH THIRTEEN (AE) raced wide without cover in the early stages. Passing the winning post the on the first occasion, TM BIG ROCK STAR (US) and MH THIRTEEN (AE) bumped. Passing the 500 metres GALI RICH (US) rolled inwards with AK ADOUR (FR) having to be momentarily steadied. At the turn into the straight BARNAAMAJ (FR) and GALI RICH (US) brushed. Jockey W Matee (AL ANID [FR]) dropped his whip near the 400 metres.
