Meydan Sobha Sponsors Six-Race Dubai World Cup Carnival Card Worth US$1m
Group 2 Balanchine for Fillies & Mares & Listed Dubai Millennium Stakes Highlight
Meydan Sobha is supporting a strong Dubai World Cup Carnival card at Meydan Racecourse on Thursday, featuring the Group 2 Balanchine and the Listed Dubai Millennium Stakes among six races worth more than US$1m.
The newly-created $200,000 Dubai Millennium Stakes over 2000m of Meydan’s turf represents an interesting prep race while the Balanchine, another turf contest is also worth $200,000. It is open to fillies and mares only and is held over the same 1800m trip as the Group 1 Jebel Hatta on Super Saturday and the Dubai World Cup-day Group 1 Dubai Duty Free.
An equally-split joint venture, Meydan Sobha is responsible for developing more than 47 million square feet of prime freehold land in the heart of Dubai. The first landmark project within Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City is the aptly named District One.
This expansive development will feature luxury residences, green parklands, waterways, a high-end shopping and dining pavilion and large recreational spaces creating one of the lowest density developments in the heart of any international city.
Together Meydan and Sobha aim to develop this community of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City into one of the world’s prime residential locations, delivering a new, vibrant ‘green heart’ for Dubai.
Saeed Humaid Al Tayer said: “We at Meydan Sobha are extremely proud to be joining the impressive list of Pillar Partners for the Dubai World Cup 2013-2014.
