EXALTATION (IRE) (J Bailey) dwelt at the start losing considerable ground. MARIENBARD (IRE) (J Spencer) was slow to begin. Approaching the 200m NARRATIVE (IRE) (J Carroll) had to be restrained. On enquiry it was established that MARIENBARD (IRE), which was blocked, was taken to the inside of BOREAL (GER) (K Fallon) to improve its position, when BOREAL (GER) shifted in. MARIENBARD (IRE) then tightened NARRATIVE (IRE), causing it to be restrained. Over the concluding 100m HELENE VITALITY (NZ) (G Mosse) shifted in brushing BOREAL (GER) which in turn crowded MARIENBARD (IRE). Jockey K Fallon explained that BOREAL (GER) had hung inwards considerably throughout the race and when crowded slightly at this stage had overreacted thereby shifting ground. Stewards were satisfied that in both instances BOREAL (GER) had contributed and as such took no action.
