GORBAND (USA) (G Hind) was slow into stride. MOUNT JOY (GB) (M Hills) dwelt at the start losing considerable ground. PROVIDENT (USA) (W Supple) raced fiercely from the start. Approaching the 1200m MIPAN (IRE) (R Moore) shifted out carrying RED ASTAIRE (NZ) (C Avery) wide. WOTAN (FR) (S Sanders) hung outwards from the 1300m. Trainer Mr C Wroe was advised to take remedial action. OCEAN STAR (GB) (W Smith) veered out quickly at the 50m. When questioned regarding the improved performance of OCEAN STAR (GB) trainer Mr M Al Kurdi could only suggest that the gelding had been unsuited to racing under lights at Nad Al Sheba at its previous start. Whist satisfied that OCEAN STAR (GB) was better suited to racing at Jebel Ali, he still intended to persevere with starting the gelding at Nad Al Sheba.
