BLAZING ABILITY (USA) (W Smith) veered outwards on jumping inconveniencing MADURESE (GB) (J Carroll). FOLAANN (IRE) (P Smith) threw its head in the air at the start losing ground. SAIHOOK (GB) (G Hind) veered out onto LAHOOQ (GB) (A McGlone). At the 600m BOTOSANI (USA) (R Moore) shifted inwards and then stumbled with apprentice R Moore immediately restraining the gelding. BOTOSANI (USA) bumped heavily with BLAZING ABILITY (USA). FOLAANN (IRE), which was following, struck the hind leg of BOTOSANI (USA) and fell. BOTOSANI (USA) was transported to the Dubai Veterinary Hospital where it was euthanased after being ascertained to have a fractured near shoulder. FOLAANN (IRE) was euthanased after fracturing its near shoulder. Jockey P Smith and apprentice R Moore were examined by the Club's Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil their remaining engagements. Apprentice R Moore advised that after travelling well BOTOSANI (USA) had broken down and he had quickly restrained the gelding. Jockey P Smith stated that he was unable to avoid BOTOSANI (USA) hindquarters when it moved dramatically and this had caused FOLAANN (IRE) to fall.
