Trainer Mr M Al Kurdi was fined AED 200 under ERA 11 (xvi) (b) for failing to declare a tongue tie for SHAN FARA (USA). GIRL SCOUD (BRZ) (R Mullen) broke through the stalls after being loaded and was subsequently withdrawn at 7.03pm by order of the Stewards. Trainer Mr A Selvaratnam was advised that GIRL SCOUD (BRZ) was placed on the Starter's List and must complete a Stalls' Test before being permitted to race. PIKACHU (AUS) (J Carroll) and CHEVAL DORE (GB) (T Durcan) jumped awkwardly. CHEVAL DORE (GB) then raced wide. Approaching the 650m SIGLO (ARG) had to be restrained when GO ON MY SON (NZ) (M Hussey) shifted in. GO ON MY SON (NZ) then shifted out carrying ALBADOU (GB) (C Kerton) wide. On enquiry apprentice M Hussey was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under ERA 69 (i) and was suspended from riding in races for one day and fined AED 750 (Thursday 30 January 2003 at Nad Al Sheba). At the 300m SHAN FARA (USA) had to be steadied when tightened between PIKACHU (AUS) and NANTUCKET (IRE) (C Arnold). Jockey W Ryan advised that he eased AQUITANIA (GB) when he believed the gelding was stepping short.

AL JASOOR (FR) (A Whelan) was slow to begin. On leaving the chute TIDJAM LOTOIS (FR) veered inwards suddenly dislodging jockey R Mullen. Jockey R Mullen was examined by Club's Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagement. As TIDJAM LOTOIS (FR) had acted in the same manner from the same chute on 22 December 2002, Stewards ruled that entries would not be accepted for TIDJAM LOTOIS (FR) for races run from any chute. Further that it would be required to pass a Stall's Test on the course proper and should TIDJAM LOTOIS (FR) again perform in a similar manner, that its entries would be rejected.

Near the 1200m GATHAB (AE) lost its position, jockey C Taylor explained that when racing greenly he had steadied the colt and it threw its head up losing ground. Near the 950m AHMADANI MUSAFER (AE) (C Avery), which was racing greenly, veered outwards quickly and lost considerable ground.
