AL MUNTASIR (AUS) (K McEvoy) was withdrwan at 3.01pm when the colt refused to enter the stalls. Trainer A Selvaratnam was advised that AL MUNTASIR (AUS) was placed on the Starter's List and must complete a Stalls' Test before being permitted to race. RED ASTAIRE (NZ) (C Tellier) was slow to begin. After being slow into stride NISSR AL JAZIRA (IRE) (D O'Donohoe) raced erratically in the early stages. NAIYZAK (NZ) (C Avery) bled during running. Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that NAIYZAK (NZ) must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of a Steward or Veterinary Officer before being entered for a race. When questioned regarding the improvement in DESERT WHISPER's form trainer Mr M Al Kurdi advised that when having its initial start DESERT WHISPER (GB) was extremely inexperienced and he believed the colt raced in a frightened manner. He was of the opinion that DESERT WHISPER (GB) had been suited by racing straight and not crowded in the field.
