SUDDEN SQUALL (USA) (G Auckram) was carried back by the tiring SORCERER'S WIT (USA) between the 800m and the turn into the straight. Over the final 50 GALLANT GLORY (USA) shifted in when struck with the whip carrying GALLAASH (USA) inwards.

SULTANA GHANTOOT (AE) was withdrawn at 6:08pm when Stewards were advised that the filly's marks did not correspond with the passport. It was later ascertained that the horse presented was the stablemate NAJMA GHANTOOT (AE). After enquiring into this incident, the trainer of both fillies, Mr B Al Ketbi, was found guilty to a charge of negligence under ERA 9 (xvi) (b) for presenting a horse to race which he had failed to properly identify. He was subsequently fined the sum of AED 3000. RIMAAL GHANTOOT (AE) (W Mason) jumped awkwardly and veered dramatically to the outside of the track. Jockey W Mason restrained the filly which lost considerable ground. Trainer Mr B Al Ketbi was advised that RIMAAL GHANTOOT (AE) was placed on the Starter's List and must complete a Stalls' Test before being permitted to race. SAMA'A GHANTOOT (AE) (C Arnold) jumped awkwardly losing ground. At the 600m WS WADHA (AE) (C Avery) shifted out quickly.
