AZIMUTH (USA) reared as the start was effected dislodging jockey S Hamel out the back of the stalls. After consulting with the starter AZIMUTH (USA) was declared a definite runner. Trainer Mr Mazin Al Kurdi was advised that AZIMUTH (USA) would have to perform a satisfactory stalls' test before being permitted to start again. SENSATIONAL FLYER (USA) (S O'Gorman) was unruly in the stalls prior to the start and after hanging outwards from the 1000m took the turn into the straight extremely wide. Trainer Dr J Bittar was advised that SENSATIONAL FLYER (USA) must perform a satisfactory stalls' test before being permitted to start in a race. SORCERER'S WIT (N Cordrey) was impeded somewhat passing the 200m when attempting a run inside of PIKACHU (AUS) (J Carroll). Following the running of this race jockey S Hamel was examined by the Club's Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.

ZAY AL HAWA (AE) (S Hamel) was withdrawn at 11.01pm when it was unable to be placed in its stall. Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that ZAY AL HAWA (AE) must perform a satisfactory stalls' test before being permitted to race again. AF AL GHASEB (AE) (C Kerton) and AF AL DARRAYAH (AE) (L Bester) were slow into stride. Running to the 1300m INAN (AE) (D Biggs) last ground. Jockey D Biggs explained that INAN (AE) was pulling hard at this stage and he had restrained when running onto the heels of another runner. At the 1000m FUTTOON (AE) (C Taylor) was bumped from its inside by DINAR (AE) (R Mullen) and lost ground when shifting out and making contact with AF AL GHASEB (AE). On straightening INAN (AE) rolled out bumping with MUWASELL (AE) (S O'Gorman). Jockey D Biggs (INAN (AE)) was cautioned with regards to using his whip with his arm extended above the shoulder.
