TROPICAL STAR (IRE) jumped awkwardly and veered inwards partially dislodging jockey R Mullen, who struck L Bester (SAXE [GB]) causing that gelding to lose ground. Trainer Ms J Wickham was advised that the TROPICAL STAR (IRE) was placed on the Starter's List and must complete a Stalls' Test before being permitted to race. ASIL AL KUWAIT (JPN) (J Panas) was slow to begin. TROPICAL STAR (IRE) and PRIVATE POSSESSION (USA) (P Hanagan) raced wide in the middle stages. When racing ungenerously near the 1200m LEWA DANCE (USA) (S Sanders) shifted inwards tightening CHARLIE SAYS (USA) (D O'Donohoe) onto ATTENTIVE (IRE) (R Moore). As a result CHARLIE SAYS (USA) lost its position. At the 1200m BALLET (ARG) (G Hind) rolled inwards tightening MANNJAM (USA) (K Fallon) which in turn caused ALBADOU (GB) (W Supple) to steady. Passing the 400m KANDAHAR (IRE) (B Doyle) lay inwards. Jockey B Doyle changed his whip to his left hand and the colt then shifted outwards causing LEWA DANCE (USA) to steady. Jockey D O'Donohoe reported that CHARLIE SAYS (USA) lost its action at the turn into the straight.
