Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that LANCEWOOD (USA) was placed on the Starter's List and must complete a Stalls' Test before begin permitted to race. Approaching the 1000m RIORDAN (USA) fractured its near hind cannon and fell dislodging jockey J Carroll. QUITE LOVELY (USA) (T Durcan) and CAPITAL PRINCE (FR) (T Naughton), which were following, were severely inconvenienced in this incident. Following the running of this race jockey J Carroll was relieved of his remaining riding engagement.
