When questioned, Jockey R Mullen explained that at this stage the mare had felt uncomfortable in her action and was reluctant to race, as such believing that MAZAYA (GB) was injured he had elected to ease the mare out of the race. A subsequent veterinary inspection of MAZAYA (GB) revealed no abnormalities. Passing the 800m ABU DHABI (FR) (J Carroll) baulked and mistrode and lost considerable ground.
