Following the running of this race the Stewards lodged an objection under the provisions of ERA 78 (iii) related to the interference caused by JAP ANEEF (AE) (A Whelan) (second) to AF AMER TAHADDI (AE) (G Hind) (third) at about the 150m. This objection was upheld and amended placings were: 1st WS ASEEL (AE) 2nd AF AMER TAHADDI (AE) 3rd JAP ANEEF (AE) 4th AF ASHRAQAT (AE) 5th HABIS (AE) NADER (AE) (R Mullen) hung outwards badly in running taking the turn into the straight extremely wide. Near the 150m JAP ANEEF (AE), when struck with the whip, shifted outwards quickly causing AF AMER TAHADDI (AE) to be checked and lose ground. JAP ANEEF (AE) continued to lay outwards and again inconvenienced AF AMER TAHADDI (AE) near the winning post. On enquiry jockey A Whelan was advised that he must make a greater effort to straighten his mounts when shifting ground in future.

JACKY DE CARRERE (FR) (M Williamson) reared on jumping losing considerable ground. MAWWAL (FR) (C Arnold) pulled hard in the early and middle stages. Making the turn into the straight SILVERRADO (US) (S O'Gorman) shifted out carrying MAWWAL (FR) outwards onto MEZIOUN (FR) (H RAMLUGAAN), causing that gelding to be tightened onto DENYAI (FR) (J Carroll) and lose ground. On enquiry jockey S O'Gorman was cautioned with regards to shifting ground when insufficiently clear.
