OCEAN OF STORMS (IRE) (T Naughton) dwelt badly when the start was effected missing the start by a considerable margin. Approaching the 1275m AFTER THE BALL (SAF) (R Moore) shifted in crowding MBOSI (USA) (T O'Shea) which in turn caused DESERT GLOW (IRE) (G Birrer) to be restrained. On enquiry jockey R Moore was reprimanded for failing to afford runners on his inside sufficient room. At the 750m MARBUSH (IRE) (J Moriarty) rolled out bumping AFTER THE BALL (SAF) which was then tightened when BETTER MIX (USA) (F Da Silva) improved around its outside thereby losing ground. Passing the 450m Apprentice Moriarty allowed MARBUSH (IRE) to shift in tightening MESHTY (IRE) onto PERIPHERAL (USA) (S Chin) with that filly striking the running rail and becoming unbalanced. Apprentice Moriarty was found guilty of careless riding under ERA 69 (i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for one day (Thursday 16 December 2004 at Nad Al Sheba).

MYPLACEORYHOURS (USA) (M Fenton) escaped riderless at the start and after being captured took its place in the field. OCEAN SONG (USA) (D Mernagh) was slow into stride. The visor on MYTHICAL JINKS (USA) (G Hind) came undone during running causing the gelding to race erratically in the straight. Following the race the Stewards inspected this piece of equipment and failed to observe any anomaly. From the 400m TARFAA BINT SWAIN (USA) (A Ajtebi) lay outwards to the outside of the track. Late Report Abu Dhabi 28th November 2004: Jockey Stanley Chin was questioned as to the reason he had in his possession a modified body protector. He advised that the valet had packed his entire kit and had included the body protector which he used solely for riding in another country. He explained that the regulation in that country permitted its use. He verified to the Stewards that he was in possession of a regulation body protector. In assessing the issue Stewards were satisfied that jockey Chin neither needed to or intended to weigh out with the modified body protector. However, he was advised that it should not be brought to a race course in the UAE as even its inadvertent use would lead to a severe penalty.
