Passing the 450m MANNJAM (USA) (P Smullen) rolled inwards and tightened FLOWER STATE (GB) (T Durcan) onto OUTPOKER (USA) (W Supple). OUTPOKER (USA) was then held up for a clear run until passing the 250m. HAZELHATCH (GB) was impeded between the 500m and the 350m.

CHANNEL FOUR (USA) was withdrawn at 7:22pm after the stable advised that the colt had injured a hock in a minor stable incident prior to being transported to the racecourse. Passing the 400m CAMELOT (GB) (W Supple) was struck on the face by the whip of G Hind (BOSRA'S VALENTINE [USA]). Stewards enquired into G Hind's riding of BOSRA'S VALENTINE (USA) at this stage. After considering that BOSRA'S VALENTINE (GB) was inclined to lay inwards and that G Hind had used his whip in his left hand, Stewards found Jockey G Hind guilty to a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69 (i) in that he had continued to use his whip when his mount shifted inwards thereby hitting CAMELOT (GB) on the head. In taking into consideration that this action was accidental Stewards fined Jockey Hind AED 2,500.
