ON ACTION (USA) was withdrawn at 2.41pm when it was ascertained that the colt was not on course. STRATEMANN (GB) (K Manning) was slow to begin. ONESHOTWOLIONS (IRE) threw its head in the air shortly after the start striking jockey D O'Donohoe in the head. Making the turn at the1200m UHLAN (GB) (T O'Shea) shifted outwards onto KAYD (FR) (P Dobbs) causing that mare to carry SIGNWRITER (USA) (W Supple) wide on the track. Passing the 400m TRI ANOTHER CAT (USA) (J Carroll), when taken outwards to obtain a clear run, carried DANEHILL DUBAI (IRE) (G Birrer) onto FALICK TAYEB (GB) with that colt having to be steadied. VANISHING ACT (USA) (D Mernagh) lay inwards over the final 200m. Jockey D Mernagh was cautioned with regard to the use of his whip forward of the shoulder whilst in the forehand position. Following the running of this race jockey D O'Donohoe was examined by the Club's medical officer and declared unfit to ride his remaining engagements.

Passing the 400m JUMHOOR (IRE) (R Hills) shifted inwards causing ARRGATT (IRE) (P Smullen) to be steadied from the heels of DUBAI SQUIRE (USA) (G Birrer). LE GOUTILLON (USA) (D Mernagh) which was following was impeded in this incident. Jockey R Hills was advised that he must make a greater effort to straighten his mounts when shifted ground in the future. Near the 200m ARRGATT (IRE) when held tight by MEADAAF (IRE) (J Moriarty) on its outside had to be steadied off the heels of DAWN PIPER (USA) (P Dobbs) when that gelding shifted outwards. Jockey P Dobbs was advised he must ensure there is sufficient room for his mount when shifting ground. PFENNIG (GB) (J Panas) was held up for a clear run near the 300m.

Trainer Mr E Charpy was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness was required before the gelding would be permitted to enter to race. DUBAI MIDNIGHT (USA) (W Cahill) jumped awkwardly and was tightened for room shortly afterwards. At the 400m STORM OF TARA (USA) (T Durcan) rolled inwards bumping QIXL (NZ) (G Hind) onto BLAZING ABILITY (USA) (C Avery). Shortly after this BLAZING ABILITY (USA) shifted outwards causing QIXL (NZ) to be steadied from the hindquarters of STORM OF TARA (USA). SIGLO (ARG) (D Mernagh) was eased down in the straight. A post race veterinary inspection revealed nothing amiss. Near the 200m WATHBAT MUJTAHID (GB) (P Smullen) was impeded behind OCEAN SONG (USA) (W O'Connor). QIXL (NZ) returned with a laceration to its mouth.

Whilst loaded in the gates KILCULLEN BRIDGE (USA) became fractious and reared over dislodging jockey R Mullen. KILLCULLEN BRIDGE (USA) was subsequently withdrawn at 5.01pm. Trainer Mr M Al Kurdi was advised that KILCULLEN BRIDGE (USA) was placed on the Starter's List and must perform a satisfactory Stalls Test before being permitted to enter to race. FUTURE MINISTER (USA) (P Dobbs) shifted out at the start bumping SIR EDWIN LANDSEER (USA) (G Hind). General Report Race 2 -Withdrawal of ON ACTION (USA) - It was established that a veterinary surgeon had examined the gelding on the January 20, 2005 and had faxed through a veterinary non-runner certificate to the Emirates Racing Association. However neither the Stewards nor any official in the Emirates Racing Association had been advised of this withdrawal until becoming aware of its status when it failed to arrive on course. Race 4 - Jockey R Moore replaced D O'Donohoe on RUE MAZARINE (IRE) Race 5 - Jockey C Avery replaced D O'Donohoe on BLAZING ABILITY (USA) Jockey D O'Donohoe was advised that he would require a doctor's clearance prior to riding again.
