Near the 150m WAAJEB (USA) (D Mernagh) had to steady from the heels of JUMHOOR (IRE) (R Hills) which shifted inwards momentarily. Jockey D Mernagh explained that WAAJEB (USA) was inclined to lay inwards and, after straightening the horse when it had crowded MUWASSI (GB) (W Supple), he had then shifted out slightly and had to be steadied from JUMHOOR's heels.

Whilst at the starting gates HOT WINGS (FR) (J Carroll) underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. ANOTHER LEGEND (IRE) (W Supple) returned with a cut to its mouth. A post race veterinary examination of HOT WINGS (FR) ascertained the horse to be lame in the off hind. Trainer Mr P.Rudkin was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness was required before HOT WINGS (FR) would be permitted to enter to race. A post veterinary inspection of WASEL (FR) (M Williamson), which finished distanced, revealed no abnormalities. Jockey T O'Shea (LEWA DANCE [USA]) was fined AED 1000 under Ins 8 h (ii) for using his whip with his arm extended above shoulder height.
