Jockey G Hind reported that CLASSIC IMPACT (US) when racing erratically tended to lay out and between the 1100m and the turn into the straight lost ground. Near the 300m OCEANARA (GB) (R Sasso) shifted out bumping QUINTET (FR). Shortly after BILLAMUNAZZE (AE) (W Hollick) rolled outwards crowding PRIMITIVE STAR (US) (S Heffernan) which shifted ground causing OCEANARA (GB) to be restrained and bump with QUINTET (FR). Jockey G Hind (CLASSIC IMPACT [US]) was cautioned with regards to using his whip when out of contention.

Passing the 800m DORMILLA (FR) (D O'Donohoe) rolled inwards causing AGRAB AL NAS (FR) (W Hollick) to be restrained. Prior to correct weight Stewards considered an incident between the 3rd placed DAFFAQ (GB) (W Supple) and the 2nd placed VAN NISTLEROOY (US) (R Mullen) over the concluding stages. After considering this incident Stewards deemed there to be insufficient interference to amend the placings. Passing the 100m VELTE (US) (T Durcan) baulked at VAN NISTLEROOY (US) and had to be steadied. Over the concluding stages VAN NISTLEROOY (US) which was making ground quickly veered out when running onto the heels of BIG EASY (US) (R Moore) and bumped heavily with DAFFAQ (GB) two strides before the finish.

On straightening EMDAD (USA) (A Ajtebi) rolled out and bumped with HARB (IRE) which in turn buffeted with SUMMONER (GB) (R Ffrench). When being ridden with the whip, SUMMONER (GB) shifted inwards causing HARB (IRE) to be steadied near the 200m.
