AF AL JABBER (GB) (A Ajtebi) veered outwards at the start and bumped with SAMI LOTOIS (FR) (S O'Goman) which shifted in. DJINALY DU GINIOUX (FR) (R Hills) was slow into stride and shortly afterwards had to steadied off the heels of ALDO DU CAYROU (FR) (C Avery). Passing the 1200m VALET MAN (US) (R Moore) commenced to race keenly having to be steadied on several occasions and near the 1000m shifted outwards inconveniencing AL NABA (AE).

An objection lodged by jockey R Ffrench, rider of the 2nd placed AHMADANI MUSAFER (AE) against the 1st placed DYNAMITE (AE) (T Durcan) alleging interference near the 150m was dismissed. On appeal the objection was upheld and the placings were amended to 1st AHMADANI MUSAFER (AE), 2nd DYNAMITE (AE). RS KERIM (AE) (G Hind) commenced awkwardly dislodging jockey G Hind. RS KERIM (AE) then proceeded rider-less and in the early stages carried DYNAMITE (AE) and TAHTHEER (AE) (R Moore) wide on the track. Approaching the 250m DYNAMITE (AE) commenced to lay inwards carrying AHMADANI MUSAFER (AE) in onto MAZAJEH (AE) (W Supple) causing that mare to be steadied and shift outwards near the 200m. Shortly after this DYNAMITE (AE) continued to shift inwards and near the 175m, crowded AHMADANI MUSAFER (AE) causing that horse to make contact with the running rail, having to be restrained. MAZAJEH (AE) which was following had to be steadied and shifted outwards inconveniencing MUWASELL (AE) (J Panas). On enquiry jockey T Durcan (DYNAMITE [AE]) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69 (i) and was suspended for a period of 2 days (deferred until the first two days of the 2006-2007 season) and fined AED 1500.

HANAN (AE) (G Avranche) lay outwards making the turn near the 900m. Passing the 700m MARJU (AE) shifted outwards making contact with AL KATEEB W'RSAN (AE) (R Mullen), shortly after this MARJU (AE) who continued to race greenly had to be restrained from the hind quarters of DIWAN (AE) (T Durcan) when that gelding had lay outwards. VAN NISTELROOY (US) (T Durcan) shifted outwards at the start inconveniencing JILKO (FR) (W Smith). VAN NISTELROOY (US) then raced keenly in the early stages. JILKO (FR) was momentarily held up for a clear run on the straight. HASNA DE FAUST (FR) (R Moore) returned having lost her right fore plate and having bled from both nostrils. Trainer S Seemar was advised that HASNA DE FAUST (FR) would not be permitted to start for a period of 21 days and must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer prior to being entered to race again. Jockey G Avranche (ARSENE RUPIN [FR]) was warned with regard to using his whip with his arm extended above shoulder height.

JACKSON (BRZ) (K McEvoy) raced wide throughout. Approaching the 450m EXCALIBUR (IRE) (G Hind) struck the heels of MUTASALLIL (USA) (W Supple) and blundered, unbalancing G Hind. SURBITON (USA) (R Ffrench) and ZAAJEL (IRE) (S O'Gorman) which were following were inconvenienced and taken wide on the track. On inquiry jockey G Hind stated that he believed EXCALIBUR (IRE) had made the turn into the straight awkwardly and in doing so, had shifted outwards onto the hindquarters of MUTASALLIL (USA) when that horse had rolled in slightly. Passing the 150m MUTAFANEN (GB) (R Hills) shifted inwards causing SHANTY STAR (IRE) (A Van Der Lingen) to be steadied. Jockey R Hills was advised that he must ensure he attempts to straighten his mounts when they shift ground. Upon returning to the stables, EXCALIBUR (IRE) was found to be lame on the off fore fetlock.
