ZALAAL (USA) was withdrawn at 6:35pm when Trainer Mr E Charpy advised the colt had swelling to the near eye. MAQADEER (IRE) was fractious in the paddock and dislodged Jockey P Dillon twice when entering the track. MAQADEER (IRE) then completed a circuit of the track riderless and was subsequently withdrawn by order of the stewards at 7:30pm. Trainer Mr R Bouresly was advised that the mare would be required to paddock school prior to being entered to race. SHINE A LIGHT (USA) (P Dobbs) shifted in at the start bumping JAFFAL (USA) (R Ffrench) onto the hindquarters of WHITE WINGO (SAF) (S Randolph). At the 1000m the saddle on ONE GOOD THING (USA) slipped backwards placing jockey G Hind at a disadvantage in riding his mount. A post race veterinary inspection of BAYNUNAH (USA) (S Hefferman) revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer Mr S Hawaa was advised that BAYNUNAH (USA) must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA Veterinarian prior to being permitted to enter to race again.

DRAMATIC EDGE (USA) (R Ffrench) was fractious in the stalls and bumped with CLASSICIST (USA) (W Supple) on jumping. Approaching the 400m CLASSICIST (USA) lay inwards and crowded DRAMATC EDGE (USA). At the 250m CLASSICIST (USA) shifted out with Jockey W Supple changing his whip to his right hand. The gelding then lay inwards and as Jockey W Supple changed his whip CLASSICIST (USA) bumped heavily with DESERT SANDS (AUS) (R Moore), those two horses buffeting until the finish. In considering this incident stewards were of the opinion that Jockey W Supple had made a sufficient effort to keep CLASSICIST (USA) straight. Jockey T. Durcan reported that SENLIS (JPN) although jumping well, had tended to race in a lack luster manner in the straight. A post race veterinary examination of SENLIS (JPN) revealed no abnormalities. General Report Race 2. Jockey S Hefferman replaced W Hollick on BAYNUNAH (USA) when he failed to arrive on course. Rider's agent Ms D. McCreedy was fined AED 250 in relation to jockey W Hollick failing to fulfill his engagement to ride BAYNUNAH (USA).
