RESTRUCTURED (USA) (W Supple) and LANDSLIDE (IRE) (T O'Shea) were both slow to begin. Near the 550m LANDSLIDE (IRE) attempted a marginal run to the inside of RESTRUCTURED (USA), that horse then rolled inwards slightly causing LANDSLIDE (IRE) to be restrained and taken outwards. Apprentice S Gorey (MUWASSI [GB]) was cautioned for using his whip with his arm extended above the shoulder. Jockey P Dillon was questioned regarding his riding of DUBAI GUEST (CAN), he stated that he had been instructed to ride DUBAI GUEST (CAN) in a forward position and after commencing well had endeavored to do so but was unable to cross runners on his inside and as such was forced to race further back than anticipated. He believed DUBAI GUEST (CAN) was not suited to racing in this position. When questioned regarding his apparent lack of vigor on the horse in the straight he stated that once DUBAI GUEST (CAN) gained clear running in the straight the horse had began to make ground, although tending to lay inwards. This had necessitated in him using the whip in his non preferred left hand which resulted in him not being able to ride DUBAI GUEST (CAN) out to his normal standard. Whist accepting jockey P Dillon's explanation, Stewards advised him that they expected him to show more vigor when riding horses out in future.

Prior to entering the paddock WAAJEB (USA) (R Ffrench) required its left hind plate to be reset. WAJEEB (USA) then proceeded directly to the start. BOOK OF KINGS (USA) (R Mullen) was slow into stride. SLEEPING WEAPON (USA) (P Dobbs) was inclined to lay outwards in the straight and made contact with WAAJEB (USA) near the 500m. Passing the 350m BLUE ON BLUES (ARG) (R Moore) rolled inwards, at the same time MUKAFEH (USA) (W Supple) shifted outwards slightly. This caused BOOK OF KINGS (USA) (R Mullen) which was racing between those runners to be steadied and taken outwards. Jockey J Panas reported that LUCKY JULES (USA) had resented the kickback in running. When questioned regarding the performance of CHERRY PICKINGS (USA), Jockey T Durcan could offer no excuses and stated that in his opinion CHERRY PICKINGS (USA) had raced flat in the straight. SYDENHAM (USA) (S Hefferman) returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that SYDENHAM (USA) would not be permitted to start for 21 days and must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the ERA Veterinary Officer before being permitted tot enter to race again. WAAJEB (USA) returned with a laceration to it's off hind fetlock.
