YOU SNOOZE ULOSE (US) (R Mullen) was fractious in the starting gates. Approaching the 1400m SILVERADO (US) S O'Gorman) and JUVEN MOON (FR) (R Cleary) bumped on two occasions. Passing the 1200m MAXI DE PIBOUL (FR) (W Supple) commenced to race keenly and shifted inwards carrying DUSMANE DES CADES (FR) (C Avery) in onto SADEEM (W Hollick) causing that horse to be steadied inwards onto PONY EXPRESS HIPOLYTE (FR) (C Arnold). KHATTAFF (FR) (R Smith) which was racing to the inside was crowded and bumped on several occasions. At the 600m MR AL CIRCY (FR) (T Durcan) and YOU SNOOZE ULOSE (US) were momentarily impeded. Near the 400m JUVEN MOON (FR) had difficulty obtaining a clear run. Passing the 400m MLEEH (FR) (S Gorey) commenced to lay inwards and near the 250m shifted inwards onto VALET MAN (US) (G Hind) causing that horse to be steadied off the heels of MILLENIUM DU POUY (FR) (R Ffrench). YOU SNOOZE ULOSE (US) which was following had to be restrained and shift outwards to obtain clear running. Apprentice S Gorey was shown a film of this incident and advised that he must make a greater effort to keep his mounts straight in future.

MARBUSH (IRE) (R Cleary) struck the heels of TANGERIANO (ARG) (R Moore) and blundered approaching the 1200m. On inquiry it was established that both runners had been racing keenly at this stage of the race and when making the turn near the 1200m TANGERIANO (ARG) had rolled inwards causing MARBUSH (IRE) to clip heels and blunder. As such Stewards were of the opinion that no rider could be held solely responsible. MARBUSH (IRE) lay inwards in the straight. Jockey D O'Donohoe (Parasol {IRE}) was warned with regards to using his whip with his arm extended above the shoulder.
