Prior to mounting ZADALRAKIB (GB), jockey P Dobbs became indisposed and was relieved of his riding engagements. ZADALRAKIB (GB) was subsequently re-saddled with jockey G Birrer replacing P Dobbs. This resulted in this race starting five minutes late. RESTRUCTURED (USA) (C Arnold) reared at the start and was then crowded for shortly after. GLAD MASTER (GER) (S Brown) was slow to begin. Passing the 800m BOUNTY QUEST (GB) (W Supple) commenced to lay outwards and in doing so tightened MACHYNLETH (GB) (J Panas) onto DAHTEER (IRE) (W Mason) which had to be steadied. BOUNTY QUEST (GB) then continued to lay outwards and passing the 600m shifted out onto NORTHERN ROCK (T Durcan) with that gelding being steadied outwards and bumping with OUTPOKER (USA) (R Ffrench). INSTANT RECALL (IRE) (R Moore) was inconvenienced in this incident. Approaching the 500m WIZARD OF NOZ (GB) (B Jacobson) was tightened for room and had to be steadied when DAHTEER (IRE) on its outside shifted inwards and at the same time PRINCE CHARMING (GB) (G Hind) which was racing on its inside had rolled outwards. Over the final 100m ZADALRAKIB (GB) (G Birrer) drifted outwards causing BOUNTY QUEST (GB) to steady outwards and inconvenience CLIFDEN (IRE) S O'Gorman)
