DOCTOR OF LAWS (GB) (T Durcan) was slow into stride. JACKSON (BRZ) (P Eddery) commenced to tire passing the 1000m and in doing so impeded DOCTOR OF LAWS (GB) near the 900m. ALEUTIAN (GB) (W Supple) raced wide throughout. Jockey P Eddery reported that JACKSON (BRZ) did not feel comfortable in its action during the race. A subsequent veterinary examination of the colt revealed no abnormalities. A post race veterinary examination of DESERT ANGER (GB) revealed the gelding to be lame in the right fore and to be scouring. Trainer Mr. S Seemar was advised that DESERT ANGER (GB) would require a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to enter into race again. .

TRI ANOTHER CAT (USA) (P Dobbs) shifted inwards at the start and bumped heavily with JUMHOOR (IRE) (R Ffrench), with that horse then clipping heels, blundering and losing ground. Approaching the 1250m BACHA (IRE) (R Moore), when crossed by FIRST EMPIRE (IRE) (T Durcan) commenced to over-race and shifted outwards. MAWWAL (GB) (M Dwyer) which was following commenced to race keenly and veered outwards bumping TRI ANOTHER CAT (USA), with that gelding then shifting outwards and making contact with ORTIGUEIRA (BRZ) (R Mullen). TRI ANOTHER CAT (USA) and RAYSOOT (IRE) (R Cleary) had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight. When questioned regarding the performance of ORTIGUEIRA (BRZ), Jockey R Mullen was of the opinion that the filly did not appreciate racing on the dirt.
