ELNAAWI (FR) (M Dwyer) jumped awkwardly. SCHEHERAZADE MONLAU (FR) (W Smith) reared at the start. MABRUM (GB) (R Hills) over raced in the early stages. SCHEHERAZADE MONLAU (FR) had a tendency to shift ground in the straight and passing the 200m shifted inwards causing DJAIMAN DE LEYRE (FR) (T Durcan) to be steadied. Approaching the winning post, KENZO DU LOUP (FR) (P Dobbs) shifted inwards, at the same time GLUBB PACHA (FR) (R Ffrench) rolled outwards. This caused DJAIMAN DE LEYRE (FR) to be steadied. FLYING CADET (AUS) (R Mullen) commenced awkwardly. PUZZEL BOOK (USA) (W Smith) was slow to begin. Apprentice R Cleary (FIRE TWO [GB]) was warned in relation to using his whip forward off the shoulder. PUZZEL BOOK (USA) hung inwards in the straight. When questioned regarding his ride on PUZZLE BOOK (USA), Jockey W Smith stated that after missing the start the filly had gotten further back than intended. He then elected to take the filly wide in running as she had resented the kick back. He further stated that from the 500m the filly had hung in badly, and this had restricting his ability to ride her out to the finish. A post race veterinary examination of PUZZLE BOOK (USA) revealed no abnormalities. Whilst the stewards accepted Jockey W Smith's explanation he was advised that he was expected to show more vigor in future. A post race veterinary examination of NAWASSI (CHI) (D Badel) revealed no abnormalities.
