ARENTI (NZ) (M Kinane) was hard to load and was then slowly away. HOLBORN (UAE) (M Khan) was slow into stride. Jockey R Moore reported that LOYALIST (SAF) had a tendency to hang outwards on straightening. Approaching the 1000m WARCAT (NZ) (W L Ho) commenced to over race when held tight by CELTIC MILL (GB) (L Dettori) on its outside. WARCAT (NZ) then brushed with NATIONAL ICON (SAF) (W Supple) and had to be steadied from the heels of PARA-CHOQUE (BRZ) (A Domingos). COMPTON'S ELEVEN (GB) (T Durcan) was held up for clear running from 350m until the 150m.

SALT TRACK (ARG) (J Murtagh) shifted out at the start and bumped with MEZEL (USA) (T Durcan). Approaching the 1600m, QUEBEC CITIZEN (BRZ) (L Dettori) shifted inwards causing YANKEE GEORGE (IRE) (W Supple) to be held tight, steady and bump with MEZEL (USA). Jockey L Dettori (QUEBEC CITIZEN [BRZ]) was shown a film of this incident and was advised that he must allow runner on his inside more room in the future. RED DUSTER (USA) (J Spencer) raced fiercely in the early stages and then hung outwards for the remainder of the race. DELUDE (IRE) (T O'Shea) raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of QUEBEC CITIZEN (BRZ), Jockey L Dettori stated that the colt had a tendency to hang inwards in running and had felt uncomfortable in its' action. A post race veterinary examination of QUEBEC CITIZEN (BRZ) revealed no abnormalities. A post race veterinary examination of MEZEL (USA) revealed the colt to be lame in right fore. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the colt being permitted to enter to race again. When questioned regarding the performance of ENGRUPIDO (ARG), Jockey K McEvoy was of the opinion that the colt was still immature and maybe better suited over longer distances.

YARQUS (GB) (E Ahern) shifted in at the start and bumped with LITTLE NECK (GER) (W Smith). When making the turn near the 900m, BERINGOER (FR) (M Dwyer) had to be steadied momentarily. Making the turn into the straight, TELL (GB) had to be steadied from the heels of KINGS POINT (IRE) (M Kinane). YARD-ARM (SAF) (T Durcan) was impeded for a clear run in the early parts of the straight. Passing the 400m, AZAROLE (IRE) (J Egan) when held up for clear running was taken inwards slightly by YARQUS (GB). At the same time TELL (GB) (T O'Shea) which was also impeded for clear running, shifted outwards and bumped KINGS POINT (IRE) onto AZAROLE (IRE).

Trainer Mr R Bouresly was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to enter to race again. EVIL KNIEVEL (BRZ) (M Kinane) was withdrawn at 9:00 pm on veterinary advice as the horse was suffering from a skin condition. Trainer Mr C Wroe was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the horse being permitted to enter to race again. PARASOL (IRE) (R Mullen) was slow intro stride. ADVICE (GB) (K McEvoy) raced keenly in the early and middle stages. GREAT RHYTHM (SAF) (R Moore) was held up for clear running from the turn into the straight until the 150m. Passing the 300m, ILLUSTRIOUS BLUE (GB) (P Doe) shifted inwards carrying ADVICE (GB) inwards with that horse bumping heavily with ROAD TO LOVE (IRE) (W Supple). ROAD TO LOVE (IRE) was then restrained and bumped the hind quarters of GREAT RHYTHM (SAF) which in turn shifted inwards and made contact with ARABIAN PRINCE (USA) (M Dwyer) which had to be steadied. On enquiry, Jockey P Doe (ILLUSTRIOUS BLUE [GB]) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under ERA 69(i) and was subsequently fined AED 2000 and suspended from riding in races for 2 days (Nad Al Sheba 22 & 23 February, 2007). MONEY BAGS (SAF) (T Durcan) which had a tendency to shift ground in the straight, shifted inwards away from ILLUSTRIOUS BLUE (GB) near the 150m, at the same time GREAT RHYTHM (SAF) when attempting a run to the inside of MONEY BAGS (SAF) veered inwards quickly causing NOTABILITY (IRE) (L Dettori) to be restrained and lose ground.

KALGOORLIE (USA) (P Smullen) was fractious in the gates and reared dislodging Jockey P Smullen. Trainer Mr I Mohammed was advised that KALGOORLIE (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. KALGOORLIE (USA) stumbled on jumping. JOE LOUIS (ARG) (M Kinane) blundered on jumping and lost ground. ASIATIC BOY (ARG) (J Murtagh) commenced awkwardly and shifted inwards bumping with LIMEHOUSE (SAF) (T Durcan) and then blundered badly unbalancing Jockey J Murtagh. LIMEHOUSE (SAF) raced keenly in the early stages.

VARADOURO (BRZ) (M Dwyer) and CUPIDS RAY (IRE) (P Smith) bumped at the start. CUPIDS RAY (IRE) and PARADISE ISLE (GB) (E Ahern) over raced in the early and middle stages. ROCHDALE (GB) had difficulty in obtaining clear running between the 400m and 200m. OBE GOLD (GB) (J Egan) was impeded for clear running in the straight and near the 150m and had to be steadied when ROCHDALE (GB) (W Smith) shifted inwards.
