Trainer Mr A Selvaratnam was advised that SAMA DUBAI (AUS) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. Making the turn near the 1200m MOLLZAM (IRE) (J Murtagh) shifted inwards tightening ORTIGUEIRA (BRZ) (D O'Donohoe) which then got onto the wrong leg and shifted outwards inconveniencing RESTRUCTURED (USA) (R Hills). On enquiry Jockey J Murtagh (MOLLZAM) [IRE]) was advised that he must ensure there is sufficient room for runners on his inside. MOLLZAM (IRE) returned with a cut to its mouth.

HOLBORN (UAE) was withdrawn at 11.00am acting on veterinary advice. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that HOLBORN (UAE) would require a veterinary clearance prior to being entered to race again. MASQUERADER (USA) (W Smith) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that MASQUERADER (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. EMIRATES GOLD (IRE) (M Lane) shifted outwards at the start bumping DESERT ANGER (GB) (C Taylor) which had to be steadied. ZAAFRAN (GB) (J Murtagh) shifted outwards on jumping bumping SAPUCAI (ARG) (J Panas) onto MASQUERADER (USA). RED DUSTER (USA) (R Mullen) over raced in the early stages. FEZ (SAF) (N Rodriguez) made the turn near the 1200m awkwardly and near the 1100m shifted outwards causing COVER DRIVE (USA) (D O'Donohoe) which was following, to be restrained. RED DUSTER (USA) shifted inwards near the 250m bumping ZAAFRAN (GB). RED DUSTER (USA) then continued to lay inwards for the remainder of the race. When questioned regarding the performance of DICKENSIAN (IRE), Jockey T O'Shea stated that colt did not appreciate the kick back in running.

Passing the 400m, BLUE GLORY (USA) (T O'Shea) was impeded behind HAFIF (IRE) (R Mullen) and had to be taken outwards to obtain clear running. Jockey W Supple reported that LIONET (USA) was never comfortable in its action at any stage of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be bilaterally lame behind. Trainer Mr A Manuel was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to be entered to race again.
