YA SALAM (FR) (A Medeiros) shifted inwards in the start and shortly afterwards tightened SKIBBEREEN (FR) (A Ajtebi) onto MAHERAH (FR) (W Smith) which bumped JORDANOR (FR) (R Cleary) causing that filly to lose her position. At the same time PAMELA DU CLOS (FR) (W Supple) shifted outwards and tightened ALKAHILAH (DE) (T Durcan). Apprentice A Medeiros (YA SALAM [FR]) was reprimanded for shifting in when insufficiently clear of runners to his inside. Near the 1500m, PAMELA DU CLOS (FR) had to be steadied when crossed by YA SALAM (FR). Approaching the 1400m ALLAOOB (GB) (M Dwyer) was momentarily eased when crossed by YA SALAM (FR). MASHAEL (GB) (P Devlin) raced greenly throughout. At the 500m SHARAKKA (GB) (R Hills) shifted outwards to obtain clear running, ALLAOOB (GB) then lay outwards away from SHARAKKA (GB) and had to be restrained from the heels of GRP RENA GHANTOOT (AE) (M Lane). Shortly after this GRP RENA GHANTOOT (AE) lay outwards and had to be steadied from the heels of BASHARA (FR). Jockey W Smith (MAHERAH [FR]) was found guilty under ERA Instruction 8 (ii) (a) in relation to using his whip in the forehand position forward of the saddle and was subsequently fined AED 4000.

SHIJA (AE) (W Rafiq) veered outwards at the start carrying HATHR (AE) (W Smith) wide. At the turn into the straight AS SAHAAB (AE) (T Durcan) rolled inwards and held AF RAKIZA (AE) (R Moore) tight with that mare then bumping SAKET (AE) (A Ajtebi) onto MUNAFIS (AE) (D Hayse) causing that horse to be steadied and lose its position. On enquiry Jockey T Durcan (AS SAHAAB [AE]) was advised that he must allow runners on his inside more room in future. AF RAKIZA (AE) was held up for a clear run for the entire length of the straight. Approaching the winning line LAHAB (AE) (J Panas) shifted in slightly, at the same time AS NAJM (AE) (W Supple) rolled outwards and held AS SAHAAB (AE) tight.
