Upon leaving the paddock, Jockey A Nicholls was dislodged from SEATTLE CLEAR (USA), Jockey A Nicholls then remounted SEATTLE CLEAR (USA) on the track an shortly after was again dislodged with SEATTLE CLEAR (USA) then galloping rider less around the track before being recaptured by the outriders. SEATTLE CLEAR (USA) was subsequently withdrawn by order of stewards at 7:27pm. Trainer Mr A Manuel was advised that SEATTLE CLEAR (USA) would be required to paddock school and complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. MEDIEVAL MONARCH (IRE) (K Jupp) was slow to begin and lost considerable ground. Trainer Mr J Salman was advised that MEDIEVAL MONARCH (IRE) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. Trainer Mr A Selvaratnam was advised that he must improve the starting gate manners of SAVE THE SECRET (AUS) (K Latham) prior to the horse racing again. BHEEMA (IND) (T O'Shea) veered outwards on jumping. SALMAN (AUS) (R Cleary) had a tendency to race keenly in the early stages. FIRED UP (GER) (R Mullen) returned with a cut to its left hind.

FUEGUINO (ARG) veered outwards on jumping unbalancing Apprentice S Al Taleei, shortly after this Apprentice S Al Taleei was dislodged from FUEGUINO (ARG). Passing the 100m WANT (USA) shifted outwards with Apprentice A Ajtebi being accidentally struck on his right arm, on two occasions, by the whip of Jockey R Ffrench [MARRIAJ (USA)].

LEAVING ALONE (BRZ) (R Cleary) and ALL IVORY (GB) (H Runge) bumped on jumping with ALL IVORY (GB) becoming unbalanced. Near the 1200m, ALL IVORY (GB) brushed the running rail on several occasions. Making the turn into the straight, TERRA VERDE (IRE) (A Ajtebi) hung outwards badly and was then eased down over the final 300m. When questioned regarding the performance of LOVER BOY (IRE), Jockey R Mullen was of the opinion that gelding had resented the kick back in running and would appreciate racing over a longer distance.
