MASH'HOOR (AUS) (R Mullen) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr A Selvaratnam was advised that MASH'HOOR (AUS) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. SEEKING AN ALIBI (USA) (T O'Shea) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr E Charpy was advised that he must attempt to rectify the gelding's starting gates manners racing again. ROCHDALE (GB) (A Ajtebi) jumped awkwardly. When struck with the whip near the 400m, SEEKING AN ALIBI (USA) shifted outwards quickly. Approaching the 200m, MEDRAAR (GB) (H Ramlugaan) shifted outwards causing INSTANT RECALL (IRE) (T Durcan) to be steadied. On enquiry, Jockey H Ramlugaan (MEDRAAR [GB]) was reprimanded for failing to straighten his mount when it shifted ground. PADRAO LIMA (BRZ) (A Nicholls) returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer Mr A Manuel was advised that PADRAO LIMA (BRZ) would not be permitted to start for 21 days and must complete a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA Veterinary officer prior to being entered to race again. MASH'HOOR (AUS) returned with a cut to its mouth.

LEAVING ALONE (BRZ) then had a tendency to over-race in the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of KERASHAN (IRE), Jockey R French could offer no excuses and advised that the gelding had raced flat. A post race veterinary examination of KERASHAN (IRE) revealed no abnormalities. MOSAIC (GB) returned with a cut to its left hind.

The right fore plate on OPPORTUNIST (IRE) (M Dwyer) had to be reset whilst in the paddock. WHERE WITH ALL (IRE) (T O'Shea) dwelt on jumping and lost ground, WHERE WITH ALL (IRE) then raced ungenerously in the early stages. RED DUSTER (USA) (R Mullen) jumped awkwardly. JONQUIL (IRE) (D O'Donohoe) commenced to lay inwards near the 400m and was held up for clear running until passing the 150m. JONQUIL (IRE) was then taken to the outside of ESQUIRE (GB) (R Ffrench) to obtain a run and was crowded for room over the concluding stages when OPPORTUNIST (IRE) on its outside had rolled in slightly and ESQUIRE (GB) on its inside had shifted out. NARVIK (IRE) (W Smith) raced wide throughout. Jockey W Smith reported that NARVIK (IRE) had resented the kick back in running. When questioned regarding the performance KAYAK (SAF), Jockey T Durcan was of the opinion that the gelding would appreciate races over longer distances. A post race veterinary examination of WHERE WITH ALL (IRE) revealed no abnormalities.
