MENADHA (USA) (R Cleary) raced fiercely in the early stages and near the 1200m bumped with PAVEROC (GB) (W Supple). MENADHA (USA) then continued to race fiercely until straightening. GUERTINO (IRE) (T O'Shea) raced wide throughout. Jockey A Nicholls reported that the saddle slipped on JASMINES HERO (USA) making the turn near the 1000m and this had placed him at a disadvantage when riding the colt out for the remainder of the race. A post race veterinary examination of the poorly performed KATZRIN (GB) revealed no abnormalities.

EL VICTORY (AUS) (R Cleary) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr A Selvaratnam was advised that EL VICTORY (AUS) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. SALMAN (AUS) (C Kerton) jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching 1900m, MOON BELAADI (AUS) (T O'Shea) shifted inwards carrying WANT (USA) (A Ajtebi) in onto MEDIEVAL MONARCH (IRE) (G Birrer) with that colt then bumping the hind quarters of IMPORTANT GAME (ARG) (M Dwyer). Jockey T O'Shea (MOON BELAADI [AUS]) was shown a film of this incident and was advised that he must ensure he is fully clear of runners when shifting ground. Approaching the 1600m, WANT (USA) and IMPORTANT GAME (ARG) made contact on several occasions. When making the turn near the 1400m, IMPORTANT GAME (ARG) was tightened for room and had to be restrained from the heels of WANT (USA) when DUBAI JEWEL (AUS) (W Supple) which was racing to its inside had rolled outwards marginally. CIVILISATION (IRE) (R Ffrench) which was following was inconvenienced in this incident. SALMAN (AUS) over raced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 600m, GULF OF GOLD (USA) (D O'Donohoe) shifted inwards quickly and tightened FIRED UP (GER) (T Durcan) which had to be steadied.

Approaching the turn near the 1400m, GREAT PLAINS (GB) (T O'Shea) which was racing strongly, rolled outwards slightly and caused ACROBATIC (USA) (G Birrer) which was racing to its outside to then shift outwards and bump DYNAMIC SAINT (USA) (T Durcan) onto MUTASALLIL (USA) (M Dwyer). At the 1150m, ADVICE (GB) (R Cleary) shifted inwards and made contact with MARRIAJ (USA). Passing the 400m SAHARA SPHINX (USA) (D Smith) commenced to lay inwards. KERASHAN (IRE) (A Ajtebi) raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of MUTASALLIL (USA) jockey M Dwyer advised that horse had made respiratory noises during the race and as such had elected to ease MUTASALLIL (USA) out of the race. A post race veterinary examination of MUTASALLIL (USA) revealed no abnormalities. Jockey R Cleary reported that ADVICE (GB) had hung outwards in running.

HANDO (GB) (C Taylor) was slow into stride. Near the 1200m, OPPORTUNIST (IRE) (G Birrer) was momentarily steadied off the heels of ALGHARB (GB) (M Dwyer). Passing the 150m CHANGING WIND (USA) (L Jones) was impeded for clear running behind AKONA MATATA (USA) (D O'Donohoe) and had to be taken outwards to obtain clear running. JONQUIL (IRE) (W Supple) had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight. When questioned regarding the performance of ZORIN (BRZ), Jockey T Durcan advised that the gelding had never traveled comfortably at any stage of the race. A post race veterinary examination of ZORIN (BRZ) (T Durcan) revealed no abnormalities. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of QUORUM (GER) jockey W Smith could offer no excuses. LIMEHOUSE (SAF) (K Shea) jumped awkwardly. COMMANDANTE XARA (BRZ) (R Cleary) shifted outwards at the start causing DRIFT ICE (SAF) (T Durcan) to shift out and bump the hind quarters of POWER POLITICS (USA) (W Smith). Near the 300m, DRIFT ICE (SAF) shifted inwards and momentarily inconvenienced COMMANDANTE XARA (BRZ). Passing the 250m, RESTRUCTURED (USA) (A Nicholls) shifted inwards causing MACHYNLETH (GB) (G Birrer) to be tightened for room. On enquiry Jockey A Nicholls (RESTRUCTURED [USA]) was advised that he must make a greater effort to straighten his mount when they shift ground in future. Shortly after this ATTILIUS (BRZ) (D Badel) when looking for clear running shifted outwards and made contact with MACHYNLETH (GB). NEW FREEDOM (BRZ) (T O'Shea) hung outwards badly over the final 200m, inconveniencing RESTRUCTURED (USA) and DRIFT ICE (SAF) near the 100m. A post race veterinary examination of SIR EDWIN LANDSEER (USA) (C Taylor) revealed the gelding to be lame in the right fore and to have suffered from a cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer Mr C Wroe was advised that the gelding would be required to complete a satisfactory gallop and obtain a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to enter to race again. A post race veterinary examination of LIMEHOUSE (SAF) revealed the colt to be lame in the left hind. Trainer Mr M de Kock was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the colt being permitted to enter to race again.
