APPALACHIAN TRAIL (IRE) (T Eaves) and BOTANICAL (USA) (T O'Shea) raced keenly in the middle stages. Jockey A Nicholls reported that INDIAN TRAIL (GB) hung outwards throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of BOTANICAL (USA), Jockey T O'Shea stated that the horse travelled well in running but when put under pressure in the straight had failed to respond. A post race veterinary examination of BOTANICAL (USA) revealed no abnormalities.

Trainer Mr D Selvaratnam was given permission to race HAZEYMM (IRE) (J Murtagh) without its declared shadow roll as it was unable to be fitted to the gelding's bridle. SAFETY INVESTMENTS (AUS) (M Kinane) over-raced in the early and middle stages. DAVIDOFF (GER) (A Starke) and COURAGEOUS DUKE (USA) (W Supple) bumped near the 400m. Jockey A Starke (DAVIDOFF [GER]) was advised that he must ensure that there is sufficient room when shifting ground in future. EA (USA) (K McEvoy) was impeded behind the tiring HAZEYMM (IRE) near the 300m. WHAZZIS (GB) (J Murtagh) was slow to begin and lost considerable ground. JET PAST (SAF) (R Mullen) raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Near the 400m, SUN CLASSIQUE (AUS) (K Shea) was taken outwards to obtain clear running and carried CROSSING (GB) (P Mulrennan) outwards which caused SWEET LILLY (GB) (D Holland) to shift outwards and steady off the heels of LIGHT GREEN (BRZ) (M Kinane) when that filly shifted inwards. Passing the 350m, SUN CLASSIQUE (AUS) was taken to the outside of MANY COLOURS (GB) (L Dettori) and bumped with LIGHT GREEN (BRZ) (M Kinane) when that filly shifted inwards. LIGHT GREEN (BRZ) then continued inwards causing SUN CLASSIQUE (AUS) to be crowded for room and be restrained off the heels of MANY COLOURS (GB), lose ground and then be taken outwards to obtain clear running. On enquiry, Jockey M Kinane (LIGHT GREEN [BRZ]) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 1 day (2nd March, 2008) and fined AED 2000. Jockey L Dettori reported that MANY COLOURS (GB) hung outwards throughout. Following the running of this race the Assistant Trainer of JET PAST (SAF) reported that the mare was showing signs of being in season.
