PALM COURT (GB) (A Ajtebi) was inspected by the Club's veterinary officer at the start and was passed fit to race. PALM COURT (GB) jumped awkwardly and was then eased out of the race near the 1000m. When questioned regarding this, Apprentice A Ajtebi stated that when he put PALM COURT (GB) under pressure in the early stages he felt the colt lose its action and was of the opinion that it may be injured itself. A post race veterinary examination of the PALM COURT (GB) revealed the colt to be lame in the left hind. Trainer Mr A Al Raihe was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to PALM COURT (GB) being permitted to enter to race again.

ROMAN'S RUN (USA) (D O'Donohoe) bumped the hind quarters of GREEN COAST (IRE) (W Supple) at the start. HALKIN (USA) (M O'Callaghan) raced keenly in the early stages. Making the turn near the 1000m, BLACKAT BLACKITTEN (IRE) (L Dettori) shifted inwards causing GREEN COAST (IRE) (W Supple) to be restrained and lose ground. ROMAN'S RUN (USA) (D O'Donohoe) which was following was inconvenienced in this incident. On enquiry, Jockey L Dettori (BLACKAT BLACKITTEN [IRE]) was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under ERA 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 1 day (16th March, 2008). Near the 400m, the tiring MARBUSH (IRE) (M Kinane) was momentarily tightened for room between ELUSIVE WARNING (USA) (K McEvoy) on its outside and BLACKAT BLACKITTEN (IRE) on its inside. Shortly after this, MARBUSH (IRE) bumped with HALKIN (USA) and became unbalanced.
