RS SHAH JAHAN (AE) (R Ffrench) jumped awkwardly shifting outwards and bumping the hind quarters of NATHIL (AE) (A De Sousa) and then blundering. Jockey A Nicholls (AS FUTOON [AE]) dropped his whip near the 400m. Jockey D O'Donohoe (AS MULFET [AE]) reported that his saddle slipped sideways shortly after the start which had placed him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. BAQIR (AE) (H Runge) and AF NISHBEH (AE) (B Yamzon) both returned with a cut to their right hind.

When questioned regarding the performance of AS MYSALOON (AE) Jockey T Durcan was of the opinion that the mare was unsuited to racing on the Sharjah track surface. A post race veterinary examination of AS MYSALOON (AE) revealed no abnormalities.
