Passing the 800m AS SAHAAB (AE) (T Durcan) was held tight for room between runners. Near the 700m SHIHAB (AE) (K Latham) rolled outwards, at the same time AF AMER TAHADDI (AE) (D O'Donohoe) improved on its inside and bumped SHIHAB (AE) which then made contact to AL ABJAR W'RSAN (AE) (G Birrer), SHIHAB (AE) and had to be steadied and lose ground in this incident. Over the final 400m, AF AMER TAHADDI (AE) had the tendency to shift inwards away from AHMADANI MUSAFER (AE) (W Smith) and in doing so crowded BILLAMUNAZZE (AE) (R Ffrench) for room on two occasions. Following the running of this race Jockey G Birrer (AL ABJAR W'RSAN [AE]) reported that he had suffered an injury to his left hand upon leaving the starting gates. The club's medical officer attended to Jockey G Birrer and declared him unfit to fulfil his remaining riding obligations.
