After being loaded into the gates RS INAAM (AE) (D Badel) became extremely fractious and reared on a number of occasions. Trainer Dr J Bittar was advised that RS INAAM (AE) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test at Abu Dhabi racecourse on race night prior to being entered to race again. DAS ELSABIR (AE) (T Durcan) veered outwards on jumping and then raced greenly throughout. Trainer Ms G Duffield was advised that she must attempt to rectify the colt’s starting gates manners prior to racing again. DAWAQ (AE) (C Avery), AF AZAHEEQ (AE) (S Gorey), JADHEBEH W’RSAN (AE) (R Mullen) and RS ARRAFA (AE) (W Matee) were all slow to begin. AF NIDHAM (AE) (S Al Reffai) shifted inwards on jumping making contact with BASET (AE) (S Al Amoori). Jockey A Nicholls (SHABASH [AE]) dropped his whip near the 300m.

OFFRANDE DUCROATE (FR) (T Durcan) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr M Gharib was advised that he must attempt to rectify the mare’s starting gates manners prior to racing again. ASSOOF (AE) (K Latham) was slow into stride. Passing the 300m, OFFRANDE DUCROATE (FR) which was inclined to lay inwards, momentarily inconveniencing CS CHARMA (GB) (R Mullen). Approaching the 175m, the tiring PRINCE DE FAUST (FR) (S Al Taleei) rolled outwards causing CS CHARMA (GB) to be inconvenienced. Jockey C Taylor reported that OMAIMA DE CARRERE (FR) did not travel well in running. A post race veterinary examination of SOUS LES ORDRES (FR) (A Ajtebi) revealed the gelding to be lame in the left fore. Trainer Mr M Ramadan was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to be entered to race again.

HAMAMAT AL SALAM (AE) (S Al Amoori) was withdrawn at 4:30pm acting on veterinary advice after the filly was found to be suffering from a skin infection on its neck. Trainer Mr M Hussain was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the horse being permitted to be entered to race again. MISKEENA (AE) (M Henry) had to be re-saddled whilst at the starting gates. MAJAN (AE) (C Taylor) failed to jump with the field and lost considerable ground. Trainer Mr F Nizamuddin was advised that MAJAN (AE) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. AF KALRAMI (AE) (T Durcan) was slow into stride. Passing the 1400m, KNOWLEDGE (AE) (A Nicholls) was crowded for room between WADHAH W’RSAN (AE) (S Gorey) which was on its outside and WANEESSAH W’RSAN (AE) (T O’Shea) which had improved to its inside. Approaching the 600m, SHAMA (AE) (R Hills) was crowded for room and had to be steadied on the inside of HASSNA BINT SAKLAWI (AE) (R Mullen). On enquiry, it was established that at this stage of the race SHAMA (AE) when under pressure to hold its position had baulked at HASSNA BINT SAKLAWI (AE) when that filly had shifted inwards quickly.

HURRICANE JAMES (IRE) (S Gorey) was slow into stride. ANS BACH (GB) shifted outwards on jumping which required Jockey T Durcan to correct the gelding inwards. EMIRATES GOLD (IRE) (T O’Shea) was held up for clear running from the 350m until the 200m. Approaching the 200m, KING JOCK (USA) (R Burke) shifted inwards causing FENICE (IRE) (R Mullen) to shift inwards onto MOGAAMER (USA) (W Smith) which was momentarily eased. On enquiry, Jockey R Burke (KING JOCK [USA]) was reprimanded for failing to straighten his mount when it shifted ground.

Stewards' Reports for National Day Cup (Sorouh)
Approaching the 1000m, FIRSTWAN (FR) (P Devlin) was crowded for room between NADIR DU BAC (FR) (K Lathaam) on its inside and DJOUBAI DE LEYRE (FR) (A Ajtebi) on its outside. On enquiry, it was established that at this stage of the race FIRSTWAN (FR) was having trouble maintaining its racing position, at the same time DJOUBAI DE LEYRE (FR) was held tight on its outside by NIRWAN (FR) (R Hills) which was in turn being tightened for room on its outside by BAHER (FR) (G Avranche) which had been inclined to lay inwards. This pressure from the outside horses had eventually resulted in FIRSTWAN (FR) having to be steadied and lose ground. As the Stewards had inadequate video footage of this incident and after taking into consideration the evidence of all jockeys they were unable to take action against any one rider.

A’RRAHA W’RSAN (AE) (S Gorey) jumped awkwardly and then raced keenly in the early stages throwing its head in the air. BINT SUDEIRAH (AE) (D O’Donohoe) and RS TASNIM (AE) (J Rosales)) bumped at the start. Passing the winning post the first time, AF MUTAMAKENAH (AE) (A Ajtebi) which was racing keenly shifted out taking BINT SUDEIRAH (AE), RS TASMIN (AE) and DHUHA W’RSAN (AE) (R Mullen) wide on the track. Shortly after this, AF MUTAMAKENAH (AE) continued to race keenly and was momentarily restrained from the heels of BINT SUDEIRAH (AE) which shifted inwards. When questioned regarding the performance of AF MAHAB ALSHAMAL (AE), Jockey T Durcan could offer no excuses other than that the filly may have appreciated the run, having not started for a considerable period of time. A post race veterinary examination of MAHAB ALSHAMAL (AE) revealed no abnormalities. Jockey D O’Donohoe reported that BINT SUDEIRAH (AE) had coughed on several times during the race.
