After arriving at the gates, BAB AL BAHRAIN (USA) (A Munro) was inspected by the Veterinary Officer and was found to be lame in the left fore and was subsequently withdrawn at 4:05pm. Trainer Mr R Bouresly was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the horse being permitted to be entered to race again. STEP IN LINE (USA) (J Rosales) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr A Bin Huzaim was advised that STEP IN LINE (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. FINGERPRINT (USA) (W Supple) and DONIA DUBAI (IRE) (J Hafiz) were slow into stride. EL LOCO UNO (USA) (D O’Donohoe) jumped outwards at the start bumping CELTIC KING (GB) (R Ffrench). When questioned regarding the performance of MUTANASEB (USA), Jockey R Hills stated that the gelding had a tendency to hang outwards over the final 200m. When questioned regarding the performance of MINEFIELD (USA), Jockey P Smullen could offer no excuses.

After arriving at the gates, FLEURIE (GB) (K Milczarek) was inspected by the Veterinary Officer and was found to be lame in the left fore and the left hind and was subsequently withdrawn at 4:35pm. Trainer Mr R Bouresly was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the horse being permitted to be entered to race again. ALO PURA (GB) (W Buick) was hard to load. Trainer Mr D Selvaratnam was advised that ALO PURA (GB) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. DUBAI TWILIGHT (GB) (T O’Shea) was slow into stride. ALO PURA (GB) which was initially crowded for room on jumping between KINGSHIP SPIRIT (IRE) (P Smullen) and SILAAH (GB) (A Nicholls), then had to be checked shortly afterwards off the heels of SILAAH (GB) which was obliged to shift out when BENNIE BLUE (SAF) (S Kaya) shifted ground outwards. On enquiry, Jockey S Kaya (BENNIE BLUE [SAF]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 2 days (Abu Dhabi 24th January, 2010 and Meydan 28th January, 2010).

Trainer Mr A Al Raihe was advised that AL NAOUWEE (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. RAWALBANDIE (USA) (K Fallon) was slow into stride. AL NAOUWEE (USA) was severely crowded for room on jumping between INTERNATIONAL MAN (AUS) (T O’Shea) which was taken in by EBN MALK (IRE) (W Buick) and AMPLE NOTE (GB) (W Supple) which was taken out by IMPENETRABLE (USA) (R Ffrench) which jumped outwards sharply. YATHREB (USA) (Liam Jones) was held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was obliged to shift outwards approaching the finish. When questioned regarding the performance of PRINCESS ROSE ANNE (IRE), Jockey T Durcan could offer no excuses. BELPASSO (IRE) (R Mullen) returned having lost its left hind shoe in running.
