Jockey G Avranche (RAKEEL [FR]) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(i) for using his whip in the forehand position forward of the saddle. Jockey D Badel (SAND STORM [FR]) who was given permission to weigh out at 53kg (being +1kg over his allotted weight), returned to scale and weighed in at 53.5kg, which constituted a breach of ERA Rule 65 (ii) given that this was 0.5kg more than his correct weight. After taking into account Jockey D Badel’s explanation, the Stewards issued a reprimand and advised Jockey D Badel that he would not be allowed to accept rides at less than 53kg in the short term.
