AL JAZIYAH W’RSAN (AE) (T O’Shea) lost its left hind plate in the paddock and had to be re-plated. This delayed the start of the race by approximately 5 minutes. NAGAM AL REEF (AE) (J Rosales) shifted outwards at the start making contact with NEJOM AL SRAYA (AE) (J Hafiz), with that filly then losing ground. Near the 1000m, BINT MILAN (AE) veered outwards sharply unbalancing its Jockey L Bester. BINT MILAN (AE) then raced greenly and wide for the remainder of the race. Jockey W Smith reported that FARAH GHANTOOT (AE) hung outwards throughout. A post race veterinary examination of ANOOD AL GHAID (AE) (M Henry) showed the filly to have injured its left fore tendon. Trainer Mr R Simpson was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the filly being permitted to be entered to race again.

GABAS NOOR (AE) (S Al Reffai) and ZAIN AL REEF (AE) (D Badel) bumped on jumping. MUNTASIR AL AIN (AE) (J Hafiz) raced wide throughout. Near the 800m, AMEER AL SRAYA (AE) shifted outwards quickly away from KAREEM W’RSAN (AE) (R Mullen). MASCOON (AE) (J Rosales) hung outwards badly making the turn into the straight. Near the 250m, NASEEM AL REEF (AE) (W Walter) veered outwards sharply away from GABAS NOOR (AE). Jockey S Al Reffai (GABAS NOOR [AE]) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) for hitting his horse with the whip without giving it time to respond. Passing the 1200m, AS MUHEEB (AE) (J Hafiz), which was laying in slightly, was crowded for room and had to be steadied. Near the 800m, RAFED (AE) (G Avranche) shifted outwards quickly off the heels of AF AMTHAAL (AE) (D Smith) and in doing so carried AS MUHEEB (AE) and AFDAL THANI (AE) (L Bester) wide. ADEEM (AE) (T O’Shea) was impeded for clear running in the straight and near the 200m had to be steadied and taken outwards. Stewards enquired into Jockey G Avranche’s use of his whip on RAFED (AE) over the concluding stages and subsequently fined him AED 1000 for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(viii), in that he hit his mount with his whip arm extended above shoulder height.

BAROLO (US) (W Smith) and MUHATTIM (AE) (L Jones) bumped on jumping. ALAM SUDEIRAH (AE) (J Rosales) and ANA DHABIANIA (FR) (W Matee) were slow into stride. Shortly after the start, RS KHAAN (AE) commenced to race greenly and shifted in away from BAROLO (US), and in doing so it made contact with FANTASTIQUE MHF (US) (T O’Shea), which in turn bumped with MILLION (AE) (D Badel). RS KHAAN (AE) then continued to race greenly for the remainder of the event. Jockey P Devlin reported that JAHFAL (US) commenced to hang badly from the 1000m. Jockey L Jones, rider of MUHATTIM (AE) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(ii) in that she hit her horse with the whip unnecessarily when out of contention. ALAM SUDEIRAH (AE) returned lame in the left fore. Trainer Mr M Al Jahouri was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the colt being permitted to be entered to race again.

Jockey G Avranche (DAHES [FR]) and Jockey D Badel (RACHIDIA [FR]) were given permission to ride 1kg over their allotted weight. Jockey P Devlin (LE GUSTA BAILAR [US]) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) for hitting his horse without giving it time to respond. Trainer Mr R Simpson was fined AED 500 for a breach of ERA Instruction 25(v), when it was established subsequent to the race that JAZEERAT ALSADYAAT (FR) had raced with steel training plates on its hind feet.

YATHREB (USA) (J Hafiz) was hard to load. Trainer Mr R Bouresly was advised that YATHREB (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. IBN BATTUTA (USA) (W Smith) and YATHREB (USA) were slow to begin. RAWALBANDIE (USA) (D Smith) and DESERT STREAK (FR) (P Devlin) bumped on jumping. Approaching the 300m, DESERT STREAK (FR) shifted in to obtain clear running and in doing so caused YATHREB to be checked and lose ground. On enquiry, Jockey P Devlin was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 2 days (Jebel Ali 20th November 2009 and Sharjah 21st November 2009). MONTMORENCY (IRE) (R Mullen) returned with a cut to its right hind. DESERT STREAK (FR) returned having lost its right fore plate.
