MAXYMUS (GB) (R Ffrench) was slow to begin. Passing the winning post the first time, RS KHAAN (AE) (D Badel) shifted inwards onto DAS JALABI (AE) (W Smith), with that horse shifting in, causing BINT SHAGRA III (AE) (D O’Donohoe) to be restrained. BINT SHAGRA III (AE) then raced keenly for a short distance. Near the 1000m, RS SAQR (AE) (C Sandoval) commenced to hang inwards, and when Jockey C Sandoval restrained the horse to alleviate pressure to the runners inside, NAWARA (FR) (A Munro), which was following RS SAQR, had to be restrained of its heels. As a consequence, RS INAAM (AE) (C Sanchez), which was following NAWARA (FR), struck its heels, blundered and dislodged Jockey C Sanchez. A post race veterinary examination of MILAN GHANTOOT (AE) (T Durcan) revealed the horse to be lame in the right fore. Trainer Mr A Al Shamsi was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to MILAN GHANTOOT (AE) being permitted to be entered to race again. A post race veterinary examination of RS SAQR (AE) revealed the horse to be lame in the left fore. Trainer Dr J Bittar was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to RS SAQR (AE) being permitted to be entered to race again. HAATEF (GB) (R Hills) returned with a cut to its left hind.

ROYAL EPIC (US) (R Mullen) and MUDALAL (OM) (D Badel) were slow into stride. Passing the winning post the first time, IBN ABEYA (AE) (J Rosales) clipped the heels of AF IZDIHAR (GB) (R Thomas) and blundered. On enquiry, it was established that at this stage of the race, AF IZDIHAR (GB), which was racing keenly, had shifted outwards slightly when MUNTALIQ (GB) (R Hills), which was racing forward to its inside, had rolled outwards. At the same time, IBN ABEYA (AE), which was racing keenly, had shifted inwards and struck the heels of AF IZDIHAR (GB). As such, the Stewards were not satisfied that any one rider could be held fully culpable for this incident. Near the 250m, AF IZDIHAR (GB) shifted inwards onto ROYAL EPIC (US), with that gelding then shifting in onto MUDALAL (OM), which had to be steadied. Jockey R Thomas (AF IZDIHAR [GB]) was reprimanded for shifting inwards when insufficiently clear of runners to his inside. AS SAHAAB (AE) (R Ffrench) was impeded for clear running over the final 200m.
