MARSAK (FR) (W Buick), PAUL DE FAUST (FR) (R Hills) and ESTIQRAAR (GB) (R Ffrench) were slow into stride. FAJER MORAQAB (AE) (C Sandoval) jumped away awkwardly. FAJER MORAQAB (AE) then over-raced in the early stages and leaving the 1800m it shifted outwards carrying ADRAAJ (GB) (T Durcan) and PAUL DE FAUST (FR) wider on the track, causing ADRAAJ (GB) to be eased. FAJER MORAQAB (AE) then ran wide making the bend at the 1400m. Leaving the 700m, AF IZDIHAR (GB) (R Thomas) raced in restricted room and was momentarily eased when racing between SHARAKKA (GB) (T O’Shea) and MUZOON DE FAUST (FR) (R Mullen). Rounding the home bend, FAJER MORAQAB (AE) ran wide crowding PAUL DE FAUST (FR) onto SHARAKKA (GB). Leaving the 300m, AF ASASI (AE) (W Smith) shifted outwards causing ADRAAJ (GB) to be restrained away from FAJER MORAQAB (AE), which had shifted back inwards. MARSAK (FR), which was following ADRAAJ (GB), had to be eased as a consequence. On enquiry, after considering the evidence of the riders involved, no action was taken as it was established that the racing manners of FAJER MORAQAB (AE) had contributed to the incident and also AF ASASI (AE) had over-reacted when Jockey Wayne Smith had elected to shift outwards. Apprentice W Walter (ALAMA [AE]) was fined AED 500 for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(viii) in that he used his whip with his whip arm extended above shoulder height. AF ASASI (AE) returned with a cut to its left hind. ALBAR LOTOIS (FR) (G Avranche) returned with a cut to its right hind. FAJER MORAQAB (AE) returned with a cut to its left fore. A post race veterinary examination of PAUL DE FAUST (FR) revealed the gelding to be lame in the left fore. Trainer Ms G Duffield was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to be entered to race again. A post race veterinary examination of MUZOON DE FAUST (FR) revealed the mare to be lame in the right hind. Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the mare being permitted to be entered to race again.

RS MUJAHID (AE) (J Rosales) jumped awkwardly and shifted outwards onto BERWAAZ (AE) (X Ziani), which in turn shifted outwards crowding WANEESAH W’RSAN (AE) (R Mullen). Shortly after the start, ZAD AL TAIF (AE) (C Peddie) shifted outwards and bumped with BERWAAZ (AE). Rounding the home bend, AS RAID (AE) clipped heels and fell, dislodging Jockey G Avranche. ROMEO (AE), which was following, struck the fallen horse and also fell, dislodging Jockey D O’Donohoe. After taking initial evidence, the Stewards adjourned the enquiry until they are able to speak with Jockey G Avranche to obtain his evidence. Jockey G Avranche was transported to hospital from the track after the incident. Jockey D O’Donohoe was also relieved of his remaining riding engagements. A post race veterinary examination of ROMEO (AE) revealed the horse to be lame in the left fore. Trainer Mr J Salman was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the horse being permitted to be entered to race again. WANEESAH W’RSAN (AE) returned having lost its right fore plate.

MUTAWAGID (AE) then hung outwards throughout. Jockey T Durcan (AZAN [AE]) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) in that he used his whip without allowing time for his mount to respond. QASSIM DE CARRERE (FR) (C Sanchez) returned lame in the right fore. Trainer Mr M Ramadan was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to the horse being permitted to be entered to race again.
