HOPES AND FEARS (IRE) (T Durcan), BRIDGE OF GOLD (USA) (P Hanagan), BLAZE OF FIRE (GB) (K Latham) and RED ROCK CANYON (IRE) (K Shea) were all crowded for room on jumping between WILD SAVANNAH (GB) (T O’Shea) and WONDER LAWN (SAF) (C Soumillon), which ran out away from BIG BOUND (USA) (R Mullen), which had jumped outwards. In this incident, BRIDGE OF GOLD (USA) and BLAZE OF FIRE (GB) were restrained and lost their position. Rounding the home bend, WONDER LAWN (SAF) shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped with GALACTIC STAR (GB) (R Ffrench). Jockey C Soumillon (WONDER LAWN [SAF]) was found guilty under ERA Rule 58(iii) in that he attempted to weigh out whilst wearing a non-approved body protector and was subsequently fined AED 3000 and suspended from riding in races for 2 days (Abu Dhabi 7th March and Jebel Ali 12th March, 2010).

Trainer Mr S Seemar was advised that ESCAPE ROUTE (USA) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. CONQUEST (IRE) (W Smith) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Mr M Al Muhairi was advised that CONQUEST (IRE) would be required to complete a satisfactory stalls test prior to being entered to race again. ALO PURA (GB) (W Buick) and BARNEY MCGREW (IRE) were slow into stride. CONQUEST (IRE) was crowded for room on jumping between RILEYSKEEPINGFAITH (GB) (A Munro) and SO SHINY (ARG) (O Peslier), which jumped inwards. CONQUEST (IRE) raced keenly in the early stages. Leaving the 600m, BARNEY MCGREW (IRE) was momentarily eased off of the heels of STAR CROWNED (USA) (R Ffrench). Shortly after straightening, GOOD CONTROL (AUS) (M Nunes) shifted out to obtain clear running and bumped STAR CROWNED (USA). Leaving the 300m, GOOD CONTROL (AUS), then lay out away from SO SHINY (ARG) (O Peslier), which drifted out slightly, resulting in GOOD CONTROL (AUS) again bumping with STAR CROWNED (USA), causing that horse to shift out onto INSTANT RECALL (IRE) (L Dettori), which had to be restrained.

DERBAAS (USA) (R Hills), MASAALEK (GB) (T O’Shea) and RAISE YOUR HEART (IRE) (K Latham) were slow into stride. Leaving the 350m, LUCKY FIND (SAF) (K Shea) shifted out causing EMMROOZ (GB) (W Buick) to be restrained and lose its position. Jockey K Shea (LUCKY FIND [SAF]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was subsequently suspended from riding in races for 2 days (Abu Dhabi 7th March and Jebel Ali 12th March, 2010). DERBAAS (USA) was held up for clear running until the 150m. SOVEREIGN REMEDY (USA) (L Dettori) returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer Mr S bin Suroor was advised that SOVEREIGN REMEDY (USA) would not be permitted to start until it had passed a satisfactory gallop test in the presence of an ERA Veterinary Officer, to be conducted not before 21 days from the date of bleeding.
