SOLID CHOICE (AUS) (K Latham) and IZAAJ (USA) (W Supple) bumped on jumping. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, TIMELY JAZZ (IRE) (P Graberg) shifted in carrying IZAAJ (USA) inwards, ultimately causing IZAAJ (USA) to be restrained. On enquiry, P Graberg (TIMELY JAZZ [IRE]) was reprimanded for shifting in when insufficiently clear. Leaving the 800m, TIMELY JAZZ (IRE) broke down and was eased out of the race. As a consequence, MENDIP (USA) (L Dettori), MR CRAZY BOY (ARG) (C Brown) and MAKAANAH (KSA) (J Barria) were all obliged to alter course around this horse. Leaving the 350m, ENAK (ARG) (T Durcan) attempted a tight run to the inside of IZAAJ (USA) and was momentarily eased when IZAAJ (USA) rolled inwards slightly. Approaching the 300m, MUSIR (AUS) (C Soumillon) shifted to the inside of MENDIP (USA) onto IZAAJ (USA), causing IZAAJ (USA) to be checked. On enquiry, Jockey C Soumillon (MUSIR [AUS]) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under ERA Rule 69(i) and was suspended from riding in races for 4 days (dates to be confirmed once the ERA race date schedule for 2010-11 has been finalised). Approaching the 50m, RAIHANA (AUS) and MENDIP (USA) bumped. A post race veterinary examination of TIMELY JAZZ (IRE) revealed the colt to have suffered a fracture to the left fore. TIMELY JAZZ (IRE) was transported to the Dubai Equine Hospital for further examination. Jockey K Shea (RAIHANA [AUS]) was fined AED 1000 for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) for hitting his horse with the whip without giving it time to respond.

VISION D’ETAT (FR) (O Peslier) raced keenly in the early stages and at the 1700m drifted outwards taking TWICE OVER (GB) (T Queally) out onto MASTERY (GB) (L Dettori), resulting in TWICE OVER (GB) having to be restrained. FURTHEST LAND (USA) (J Leparoux), which was following TWICE OVER (GB), had to be restrained off that horse’s heels and then commenced to race keenly and continued to do so through the middle stages of the races. Approaching the 250m, RED DESIRE (JPN) shifted out away from TWICE OVER (GB) when that horse drifted outwards slightly, causing RED DESIRE (JPN) to bump with GIO PONTI (USA) for a short distance. Leaving 150m, ALLYBAR (IRE) (A Ajtebi) drifted outwards crowding MR BROCK (SAF) (R Moore) out onto MASTERY (GB). GITANO HERNANDO (GB) was held up for clear running rounding the home bend until the 200m. Jockey R Dominguez (GIO PONTI [USA]) was reprimanded for breaching ERA Instruction 8(ii)(c)(vii) for hitting his horse with the whip without giving it time to respond. A post race veterinary examination of VISION D’ETAT (FR) revealed no abnormalities.
